Verbaico

Verbaico sales terms

1. The agreement

These terms apply to purchases of minutes and subscriptions for Verbaico, a real-time speech transcription and translation service at verbaico.com. The agreement consists of these terms, the information given when ordering and the prices at verbaico.com/pricing.

Some sections apply only to consumers, meaning individuals buying mainly for private purposes. They are marked as such.

2. The parties

Seller: Aivanta AS, org. no. 938 472 424, Emil Stangs vei 36, 1346 Bærum, Norway, email support@aivanta.no.

Buyer: the person registered with a Verbaico user account who makes the purchase. You must be at least 18 years old or have a guardian's consent.

3. The service and prices

Verbaico measures use in minutes of audio. New users get 30 free minutes once, which never expire. The free minutes are for trying the service: one free allowance per person and per device. We may withdraw free minutes from, or close, accounts created to collect the allowance more than once.

You can buy minute packs (pay as you go) or a monthly subscription. The current packs, subscriptions, minutes and prices are shown at verbaico.com/pricing. Prices are in US dollars (USD) and are total prices.

4. Payment

Payment is made with PayPal, using a PayPal account or a payment card through PayPal. Minute packs are paid when ordered. Subscriptions are paid in advance for each monthly period and charged automatically at each renewal.

Minutes are added to your account only once the payment is confirmed. We do not store card details; payments are processed by PayPal.

5. Delivery

The service is delivered digitally. Purchased minutes are added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within a few seconds, and can be used right away at verbaico.com.

Minutes from minute packs never expire. Minutes from a subscription are valid for the paid period and expire when it ends; unused subscription minutes do not roll over to the next period.

6. Subscriptions: duration, renewal, changes and cancellation

A subscription runs month to month with no binding period and renews automatically every month until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time under Billing at verbaico.com. After cancelling, no further payments are taken, and the minutes for the period you have paid for can be used until the period ends. Cancelling does not refund a period that has started, except under the right of withdrawal (section 7).

An upgrade to a more expensive subscription takes effect immediately: the full price of the new subscription is charged and a new period starts. Unused minutes from the old subscription stay usable until they originally expire.

A downgrade to a cheaper subscription takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

If we change the price or content of a subscription, we will notify you by email well before the change applies from the next period, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act, counted from the day of purchase. It applies when you buy a minute pack, start a new subscription or upgrade a subscription. Automatic monthly renewals of an existing subscription do not start a new withdrawal period.

By buying, you ask us to start providing the service right away: the minutes are added to your account immediately so you can use them.

If you withdraw within the 14 days, we refund the amount for the minutes you have not used. Minutes you have already used are not refunded. The deduction is the number of minutes used multiplied by the price per minute of that purchase (its price divided by its minutes). For a subscription, the minutes of the current period are counted. Once all the minutes of a purchase have been used, the right of withdrawal for that purchase ends.

To withdraw, tell us within the 14 days, for example by email to support@aivanta.no. You may use the withdrawal form from the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), but you don't have to. It is enough that your message is sent before the period ends.

We refund no later than 14 days after receiving your message, to the payment method you used. A withdrawn subscription is cancelled at the same time.

8. Returns and refunds

The service is digital, so there is nothing physical to return. On withdrawal (section 7) or a justified complaint (section 9), the refund goes to the payment method you used, and the unused minutes from that purchase are removed from your account. Minutes you have already used remain recorded as usage.

Outside the right of withdrawal and complaints, purchases are not refunded: cancelling a subscription stops future payments but does not refund the current period (section 6), and unused minutes from minute packs are not paid out.

9. Complaints

If the service does not work as agreed, for example purchased minutes were not added or you were charged incorrectly, you can complain. Tell us within a reasonable time after you discovered, or should have discovered, the fault.

Send your complaint to support@aivanta.no and describe the fault. We will answer as soon as possible and within 14 days at the latest. We will correct the fault, give back minutes that were lost, or give a price reduction or refund, in line with the Norwegian Digital Services Act.

10. Limitation of liability

Transcriptions and translations are produced automatically and may contain errors or omissions. Check important content yourself before relying on it, especially in medical, legal, financial or safety-related situations.

We work to keep the service available but cannot guarantee that it is always available or error-free, for example during maintenance or problems with networks or suppliers.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or loss caused by relying on a transcription or translation, unless caused by our gross negligence or intent. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months. This does not limit any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Acceptable use and account suspension

You may use Verbaico only lawfully and for your own use. You may not resell or share access to your account, try to get around usage metering or payment, interfere with the service, or use it for unlawful content or to record people without the consent the law requires.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. If we close an account for a serious breach, unused minutes are not refunded unless the law requires it. Otherwise we will refund unused purchased minutes if we close the service or your account.

12. Personal data

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy at verbaico.com/privacy. In short: we keep your data to provide the service and so you can review your sessions, and we never sell it or share it for anyone else's purposes.

13. Dispute resolution

Please contact us first, and we will try to reach an amicable solution.

If we cannot agree, you as a consumer can complain to the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet, forbrukerradet.no), which can mediate. Cases not resolved by mediation can be brought before the Consumer Complaints Committee (Forbrukerklageutvalget).

The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes that are not resolved amicably are decided by the ordinary courts.
